A song or two

There was a call, sent out to the distance, full of longing, kept singing and it kept ringing over the land, thru trees, hills and rivers. ” Where are you, I am here, see my feathers, hear my call!” Then it stopped with no immediate reply, then a call echoed off sky, over lakes and countryside, ” Fly over here and let me have a look see!” The rest you know.
