The Quiet Turtle Society-Now has No Title-Part Two

The man thinks to himself, miss my Dad so much, he taught me by stories and laughs, he always said, your not the first, your not the last, your the one with me, who listens over and over to my same old stories, takes me out to eat and brings me what i need, it is the hugs and I love You’s that mean so much.  Like he told me, when a large tree is cut down in the city, they don’t just cut it down and yell four or fore or for, or whatever it is that they holler, they cut it down a little at a time, that was like our family, cut down a little by little, till it was all down.  Those of us left, are all over the place, relocated, separated and apart.  I remember, he told me, Son, one day soon, the moon shall cover the sun, you will know then, that it is time to call for the Seven Councils Fires to meet, for it has been over 150 years since they all meet, not just some, but all of them.  Us, Dakota, like pine cones from the tree, all over the place, bring them, Son, I taught you the prayers, the songs, we raise you in the Dakota Way, allowed you to be educated in the western ways, so, you can talk to them and all of us.  You, will know that the time has come, for you see yourself, not young anymore, I looked in the mirror, the reflection almost burnt me, it was so bright, yup, getting fat, less hair and a lot of silver white hair, ha, wise ones, ha, ha, oh well, there is a meeting in the twin cities, i was asked to attend, protecting the sacred, a lot of Dakota and others concerned be there, set up new ways to deal with that and would like me to speak to the group.  The Red Rock returning, the Bdote calling us back, so many of my ancestors were imprisoned there at Fort Snelling and hung in 1862, that in 2017 the Walker Art Center had put up a replica of the scaffold  that hung the 38 Dakota in Mankato, that there would be protest and the people would take it down and begin to deal with the trauma left by that and the new installation that was intended to provoke conversation, but created a reaction that was growing.  It was reaching out and was a point that many had heard of, in the New York Times, WCCO TV, and Minneapolis Star & Tribune newspaper, that it spread from one to the next, what to do about this?  How could anyone put this up?  So, I Prayed yesterday morning at sunrise, just me and few other Dakota, some even here from Canada and Montana, my father, told me to sing this song, it begins like this, Creator Grandfather, we were torn apart to come back together stronger, one day is today, we are in every direction, the people are in all places, the circle has not been broken, it just got larger.  We coming home, home is here and there, now…At this very moment, out east, the fat man returns, thinking new administration but the same old me, the new President likes my plan, now, maybe we can deal with these natives in the way of development, water protectors, pipeline protesters, they will not stand in the way of this new President, he wants natural resources, money and jobs created and nothing will stop him, finally, i get free reign.  Where is that old man son?  Find out, go find him for me, stay on him, tail him, tap his phone if he has one, put eyes on his home, tell me his transportation, where is he, in Minneapolis, I heard, at the Nobel Peace Prize Forum being held at the Hotel Ivy.  Can you get me some images or updates?  Yes, is the reply…(to be continued)
