Dry as Death

Dry as death began  dying at the feast, got up and left, lost the room for friends and it’s smile, got no more humor, cannot run or hide, no more, for thirsty catches you where ever you maybe, dehydrated, got my name, like a knee jerk, in the full wet pool, flowing to drained it empty, all cracked and brittle.
Dry as death walks up to my door, and knocks, damn, it’s here, already, knocking on my boat, damn, don’t answer, play like not here, shh, quiet, be still, shit, ringing my number, mute it and don’t hear, just goes ahead and visits without any invitation.
Dry as death don’t give up, anything, takes a bath, anytime, drinks it all up, all the time, gets all the rain pouring down and snow piling up, under the hot old sun, taking all the clouds and making it so clear outside, dry as death here to stay, until the very end, dry as death has no wake and sings, ” The rain shines upon the dry, sure makes you sigh. The Sun loves the wetness sure makes you cry”
